Knitted by Women We Know

Some of our hand-knitted sweaters begin their journey at our trusted spinnery, Snældan, where raw wool is transformed into the luxurious yarn that makes each piece truly unique.

Each July, our sheep are carefully sheared, producing around 1-1.5 kg of wool per animal. The wool is then sorted by shade and, after carding, spun and twined into bundles with 1, 2, 3, or 5 threads.

From the spinnery to your wardrobe, every step in our process embodies care and precision, ensuring lasting quality and craftsmanship in every garment.

The Sheep Islands

The Faroe Islands, or "Føroyar," meaning "Sheep Islands," traces its name back to Old Norse origins. Legend has it that sheep roamed these lands even before the Vikings arrived. Today, they still wander freely across our hills, outnumbering the locals.

Working with Women We Love

Guðrun & Guðrun products are hand-knitted by women in the Faroe Islands, Jordan, and Peru. We know them all by name. Our aim is to restore integrity and decency to fashion by honoring their contributions and ensuring they remain well-treated, well-trained, gainfully-employed, and fairly-paid.
