The Faroese Way Heima
Heima: Not just home, but a way of life
Føroyskur Seyður - A Unique Breed
Sheep roam freely across our 18 islands lending the Faroes its name — Sheep Islands in Old Norse.
Nestled in the North Atlantic Ocean, halfway between Iceland and Scotland, these islands are modest in size, yet powerful in spirit. Here, a proud nation endures, with a culture as fierce as the landscape it holds and a language rooted in Old Norse. Our rugged cliffs and windswept shores symbolize a way of life defined by resilience, self-reliance and deep bond with the natural world.
At Guðrun & Guðrun, we incorporate elements of ‘Heima’ in everything we create, bringing our small, but precious world to the larger world around us.
From the Faroes to the world
Our hand-knits harken back to a bygone era - when the pace of life was slow, the environment was unspoiled, and products were locally sourced and naturally made.
Klubb Guðrun
Faroese women are known for their exceptionally close-knit community.
Through our systurbond, we share news, host events and forge connections.
