The colour of summer
April 04, 2021
when summer wraps itself around us like a warm blanket on those warm, still evenings, it suddenly hits us: all is right with the world. our newest collection SS21 is an homage to the season of all seasons.
why wool will keep you cool
some think wool is warm, end of story. but nothing could be further from the truth. actually cotton is the one not ideal for summer, since it absorbs sweat. lightweight wool on the other hand wicks sweat away from the skin, keeping you dry and cool. and as an added bonus, wool won't wrinkle like cotton.
the colours of the summer
the SS21 colour palette mirrors that of summer: pale pastels in hues of white, beige, and rose combined with a splash of colour here and there. But there is also a practicality in this: lighter tones don't heat up as darker tones do.
new discoveries
for the sake of sustainability we keep exploring new ways of incorporating waste products in our production. in our search of a new fibre we found something interesting. milk. yes, milk. apparently dairy products leave a waste product, that, when spun to fibers and knitted, produces a beautiful yarn with the most luxurious silk-like feel making it perfect for summer. we had stars in our eyes.
apart from silky milky line, we have a line consisting of a cotton-metal mix which is unbelievably soft to the skin with a rough and messy look. and of course a line of linen, which will forever be everyones favourite summer fabric.
and for the people of the north – who can but dream of tan lines and drinks by the pool – we have something for you too. cashmere as soft as butter and kid mohair as light as a feather, so you can cuddle up as the sun goes down. as snug as a bug in a rug.
